My apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this question, as it's been a very long time since I've been active here. Anyway, Microsoft is currently offering discounts on dozens of games for its yearly Xbox Ultimate Game Sale. Some games are available at reduced prices for the entire week, like Dirt and El Shaddai, but the remainder are offered for just one day, and generally arranged by theme. One day of the sale had Assassin's Creed and its sequels, another had all the Call of Duty titles, and so on in that fashion.
Microsoft's Larry Hyrb claims the company will offer fighting games in this sale, although he hasn't specified when this will happen... just what will be available. However, with just two days to go, it will have to be soon. Here's the list:
Mortal Kombat vs. DCU
Street Fighter IV
Street Fighter X Tekken
Super Streetfighter IV Arcade Edition
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
The King of Fighters XIII
Virtua Fighter 5
Here's my dilemma. I don't have a lot of money to spend, and the discounts aren't very deep, generally limited to 50% off. Chances are I'll have to settle for just one of the above games, and possibly El Shaddai or Dirt. I either own most of the games on this list, or have no interest in them. That just leaves King of Fighters XIII and Street Fighter X Tekken, both of which I want very badly.
Which of these would you personally recommend? I really enjoyed the Street Fighter IV games, owning four different versions for multiple systems. However, I'm worried that the inclusion of Tekken characters and the tag-team action will change the gameplay enough to throw off my groove. I did NOT enjoy King of Fighters XII, but am a huge fan of the KOF series and hoped that XIII would be a more fully realized game, unlike its obviously unfinished predecessor. What do you think would be the best game for me?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
